Equestrian centre owner Leanne Jackson has been using this Stormx Original 100 combi turnout rug on her 16hh, five-year-old Warmblood mare for approximately five months.
This rug is a very good fit with plenty of room around her shoulders and over her withers. for freedom of movement.
Once fastened in place this rug doesn’t move, even when the youngsters are playing in the field together and pulling each other’s rugs, the outer material although only 600 denier has proved to be durable.
It’s a lightweight rug even with the combo neck making it easy to handle. The neck cover is a good length and the two fastenings are secure.
How it performed
The rug has never leaked and the 100g filling has kept my mare nice and warm.
All the fastenings are good. There are no fancy straps — in particular the chest straps are just pierced holes, but these haven’t frayed so they remain easy to use even after five months of use.
Value for money
I’ve not used a Stormx rug before but I have to say that I am very impressed with this rug for the price. It’s performed really well and kept my mare warm and dry. It has stood up to some tough wear too.
